The Baltimore Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association serves the Baltimore metro area including Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Hartford and Howard County.

Our goals are to...

  • extend Hokie hospitality to local and visiting Hokies, their friends and families.
  • link the alumni and the university.
  • serve our community (Ut Prosim!!)
  • promote the image and reputation of Virginia Tech
  • provide merit based scholarships to future Hokies from our local community.

  • Attended Virginia Tech but graduated from another university

  • Baltimore Hokies BIG EVENT

    Dates: 11 Apr, 2015

    The BIG EVENT is one of Virginia Tech's largest community service events.  In fact, it has become the second largest event of its kind.  On Saturday, April 11 over 7,000 students, alumni, and volunteers will complete nearly 1,000 projects across the nation!  The Baltimore Hokies will be joining the BIG EVENT by serving in the following events in the Baltimore area.  This is family friendly event. Just be prepared to get dirty. Hope you can join us to serve our community!

    Howard Co, MD.  Project Clean Stream at the Robinson Nature Center, 6692 Cedar Ln, Columbia, MD 21044.  Clearing out non-native plants and brush, planting trees, and general gardening.  All tools, gloves, refreshments, and guidance are provided.  Please wear clothing suitable for working outdoors.  9am – 1pm.  RSVP to Tim Fouts at timfouts@gmail.com or just show up!

    Harford Co, MD.  Habitat for Humanity, Home Site is 518 N. Adams Street in Havre de Grace, MD 21078.   For Hokies in Harford County, we will serve at the home site from 7:30AM to 3:30 PM.  To sign up go to https://www.habitatsusq.org/volunteer/construction-volunteers.  All volunteers will create an account and complete the skills/interest from, and then sign the online safety waiver. After that you will take the safety training course, which is just watching a short video and answering some questions. Then you will be directed to the online construction calendar where they can sign up for the group build day on the April 11th.

  • Recruiting Young Scholars for Virginia Tech

    Dates: 14 Apr, 2015

    Help the Baltimore Hokies recruit the best and brightest to attend Virginia Tech.  This event is for young high school scholars who have been extended an invitation to attend Virginia Tech but have not committed yet or who have committed but want to learn more.  Here, we connect
    these scholars with alumni with similar interests and career path so that the prospect can ask questions about the alumni's experience at VT and job prospects after graduation. We are seeking alumni from a variety of age groups and majors to are interested in talking with these young prospects.  This event will be held at Union Jack's in Columbia, 10400 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, MD  on April 14, 2015 starting at 7:00pm.   Please contact Tim Fouts (timfouts@gmail.com) is you are interested in attending.
